Coach Dan Weller joined the Ave Maria University coaching staff in 2010, and serves as the defensive line coach.

Before his arrival at Ave Maria, Weller began his coaching career on the junior high school level before moving to the high school level at Pottstown High School (Pennsylvania) where he coached the wide receivers and defensive backs. In 1978, Weller joined the Ursinus College football coaching staff. He remained there until 1981, coaching tight ends, wide receivers, and quarterbacks.

Weller returned to Pottstown High School in 1982 to be the head football coach over the next 6 years. In 1988, he was in charge of the tight ends and wide receivers at Kutztown University. He left Kutztown University the following year to return to the high school level, serving as the defensive coordinator at St. Pius X High School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania for 4 years. While there, he also coached the quarterbacks and defensive backs. 

From 1993 to 2008, he coached the defensive line at East Stroudsburg University. He retired from coaching and moved to Florida, and volunteered as an assistant football coach at South Fort Myers High School. He helped coach the offensive line and defensive ends.
