Men's Basketball Falls Short Versus Waldorf College

The Ave Maria University Men's Basketball Team was defeated by the visiting Waldorf College Warriors Sunday afternoon 79-65. The Gyrenes were outshot by the Warriors (NAIA DII) who shot 47 percent as a team. AMU fell to 5-5 overall and Waldorf improved to 4-7 overall.

Marc Rozanski had 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists in the game. Jordan Fuller and Chris Scanlan each scored 12. Scanlan had a blocked shot and 3 steals, and Fuller scored his points late in the game. Jimmy Torney had 10 points to go with 8 rebounds.

Waldorf College's Chris Holloway shot lights out in the game going 8-10 from the floor, and 5-6 behind the arc. He walked away with 27 points. Lorenzo Griffin had 15 points and 3 assists.

The score after the first period was 44-21 in favor of Waldorf. AMU did their best to come back as they won the second half 44-35, but were unable to bridge the scoring gap and took the loss.
