Kiel Lewis led AMU with 16 points.

The Ave Maria University Men's Basketball Team lost to Emmanuel College 93-70. Emmanuel did most of their damage in the first half, outscoring the Gyrenes 45-25 at halftime.

Kiel Lewis led AMU with 16 points, Jimmy Torney had 14, and Dylan Fugate scored 12. Fugate had 3 assists and 2 blocked shots. AMU dropped their record to 5-6 while the visiting Emmanuel College improved to 12-2 overall.

The Gyrenes willl play home again on January 4th, 2010 when they take on NAIA competitor, Saint Xavier University at 7 p.m. Saint Xavier University currently boasts a 13-5 overall record. They are a member of the NAIA's Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
