Men's Basketball Drops Conference Opener at Embry-Riddle

The Ave Maria University Men's Basketball Team dropped their first game of Sun Conference competition Friday in Daytona, Florida. The final score was 75-45. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University improved their record to 12-3 overall and 1-0 in the conference. AMU is now 0-1 in the conference and 6-7 overall.

Early in the first half, both teams struggled to their offense going. The Eagles found it first as they went on a 17-0 run. AMU was down 33-19 at the half and were unable to come back in the second. Jimmy Torney led AMU with 9 points and six rebounds.  

AMU will face Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday. The game will start at 7 p.m. and will count as an official Sun Conference game.
