The Gyrenes Won 81-63 Saturday Afternoon at The Rhodora J. Donahue Academy Gymnasium
The AMU Men's Basketball Team blazed past the visiting Webber Warriors in the second half to secure their first Sun Conference win. The Gyrenes, now 7-9 overall and 1-3 in the conference gave Webber International their first conference loss this season. WIU is now 9-6 overall and 4-1 in the conference.

The Gyrenes recently lost to Warner, but showed their resiliency Saturday in the 81-63 win over Webber. The young, Gyrene squad is is showing consistent signs of improvement as the season moves forward.
Marc Rozanski brought his A-game scoring 23 points to lead all scorers Saturday afternoon. Rozanski played all but one minute of the game and hit 3 clutch three-pointers to give the Gyrenes the edge over the Warriors. The Sophomore transfer from McKeesport, Pennsylvania was 7 for 10 shooting, 3 for 7 behind the arc, and 6 of 8 at the line. He pulled down 5 defensive rebounds and had 2 assists, a block and a steal.
Dylan Fugate continued his lethal ways this season. The freshman from Valrico, Florida slashed his way to the hoop and scored 16 while making 10 of 12 free throw attempts. He rounded out his game with 5 boards, 2 assists, and a steal in 30 minutes played. Dylan's 10 made free throws led the Gyrenes who executed 80 percent of their shot at the line. This stat proved itself vital down the stretch when the Warriors were forced to foul.
AMU's Kiel Lewis fouled out of the game, but not before doing plenty of damage to the Warriors. He walked out of the game with 8 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals in 21 minutes played. Teammated Daniel Vivas scored 8 with 2 assists and 2 steals. Junior Chris Jordan entered off the bench to score 9 and fellow big man Jimmy Torney added 9 of his own with 7 rebounds.
Luke Malar had 16 points for Webber International and pulled down 6 boards.
The Gyrenes were down by 1 at the half, but showed plenty of maturity down the stretch as they outscored the Warriors 52-33 in the second half. AMU plays their next game at Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens, Florida on Tuesday at 7 p.m. They return to action at the Donahue Academy Gym on Friday, January 22nd at 7 p.m. They will square off against #3 ranked Northwood University in a conference matchup. Northwood leads the NAIA in scoring defense as they have not allowed more than 76 points in a game all season. It will be a great battle for the AMU men, and a game that you will not want to miss!
