Tyler Rosser is a product of Ave Maria University. He transferred to Ave in the fall of 2008 after playing three seasons for Rhodes College, a NCAA Division III school in Memphis, Tennessee. As a forward and midfielder, he scored 9 goals and had 4 assists in 36 appearances, two of those goals being game winners against rival schools Sewanee University and Christian Brothers University.

While at Rhodes College, Rosser served as the co-president of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, an organization ministering to athletes by leading Bible studies and discipleship groups. He had the opportunity to witness and experience first-hand the many joys and struggles of the college athlete on and off the field, leading him to have a better understanding of how to relate to and coach each individual student.

During the summers of 2006 and 2008 at Rhodes, he coached alongside Manager Andy Marcinko at his Above and Beyond Soccer Camp. He gained valuable experience working with all age levels, including recent high school graduates who were Rhodes College recruits.

In the summer of 2008, Rosser ventured to India with FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students) to work with the Mother Teresa’s order, the Missionaries of Charity. He worked in the Home for the Dying where 40 men and 40 women are cared for as they spend their last days on this earth. This experience instilled in Rosser the desire to serve the less fortunate around southwest Florida. As head coach, Rosser will do several service projects each year with his team to serve others and build community around the area.

After transferring to Ave Maria, Rosser was voted team captain by his teammates after having been on campus for only two weeks. He and his teammates assembled the very first winning season in school history, going 7-5-1, in their first year as a varsity team competing in the NAIA. He posted 2 goals and 9 assists in all 13 appearances. He also won the team leadership award at the first athletics banquet in school history.

In his first season after his playing career ended, Rosser was named Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach at Ave Maria University in the fall of 2009. He helped Head Coach Frank Frostino guide the team to a 3-10-1 record, a huge improvement from their first year in the NAIA. Prior to that season, he also gained valuable recruiting experience, helping to bring in several great players to help build the women’s program.

As head coach, Rosser is excited to help build the Ave Maria University men’s soccer program. According to Tom Monaghan, the Chancellor of the university, the goal of the institution is to help people get to heaven. Rosser believes that the athletics program can have a large role in helping students reach that goal and knows that many heads will be turned at Ave, in southwest Florida, and around the nation as the men’s soccer team continues to improve.

Coach Rosser currently holds a USSF 'D' National License. He resides with his wife, Dene', in Ave Maria, Florida.
