The men's soccer team lost a hard fought battle against the visiting Clearwater Christian Cougars Tuesday night at North Park. The final score was 1-2. Clearwater Christian's first goal was a penalty kick by the Cougar's #11 that was placed in the net out of reach to the right side of goalkeeper Matt Mullally. With the Cougars on top 1-0 going into the second half, they managed to score first in the second period on another penalty kick by #11. This was all they would need as the Gyrenes would score one goal in the game. AMU's goal came on a penalty kick from Alex Komninos eight minutes into the second period. The Gyrenes take on St. Thomas University October 3rd at North Park. Game time is 5 p.m.
