The Embry-Riddle Eagles defeated the Ave Maria Men's Soccer Team 5-1 Saturday in a The Sun Conference game. The Eagles improved to 11-3-2 overall and 6-0-2 in conference play. The Gyrenes are now 5-8-0 overall and drop to 2-8 in The Sun Conference.

Four minutes into the game Fredrik Elgstrom scored the first goal for the Eagles on a shot sent into the right corner. The Eagles led 3-0 going into the second half, and scored twice more to make it 5-0. The Gyrenes managed to avoid shutout with 30 seconds remaining when Miguel Vera scored on an assist from Christian Paz. The final was 5-1.

The Gyrenes play home again October 31st against conference opponent Johnson and Wales University at 4 p.m.
