Men’s soccer coach Tyler Rosser is proud to announce the signing of Edgardo Suazo from Dothan, Alabama.
Originally from Honduras, Edgardo is a speedy and dangerous outside midfielder who should bring a spark of energy to AMU’s outside flank. As a starter since his junior year at Dothan High School, one of Alabama’s most dominant 6A teams, he has won two awards: one being team’s most improved player and one being offensive player of the year.
Coach Rosser is looking for young men who have great technical abilities, who understand the game well, who have great leadership qualities, and who can come in and have an impact right away. Suazo will fit right in. Rosser says, “Edgardo will definitely be a player who can come in and have an impact right away at the outside midfield position. He is extremely fast and I’m excited to see his improvement over the next several years. I know that he will be able to lift everyone else up by his academic and athletic leadership.”
Suazo is grateful for his high school coach, Ben Turvin, for instilling in him the desire to be a leader and a great teammate. Suazo says, “I am very thankful for the opportunity Ave Maria University has given me, which is to continue playing a sport I am very passionate about.”
