Men’s head soccer coach Tyler Rosser is proud to announce the signing of Cape Coral High School standout Gaston Sola.

Originally from Uruguay, Gaston did not take long to make a mark with his club and high school teams. Gaston played for the Cape Coral Cyclones for six years before making the jump to Ole United for his senior year of high school. He and his 3v3 team placed 4th placed at the national tournament in Orlando and 7th place in the same world tournament.

In high school, he led his team to the district finals and the 1st round of the state cup his sophomore year. He was also named the Most Improved player that season. The following season, he led his team to the district championship where they won the regional finals, and then the state quarterfinals. Finally, his senior year, he was named captain after being a four-year varsity member.

Coach Rosser has had the privilege of getting to know Gaston and his family over the past several months. Gaston is polite, humble, and will be a very good leader at Ave Maria University. He does have the ability to have an impact right away and will spearhead a defense that should shut down many teams in the Sun Conference and the USCAA. Gaston is thankful for his coach Aldo Nardiello for helping him with the college recruiting process and his family who have always been there for him during his soccer career.
