Men’s Head soccer coach Tyler Rosser is proud to announce the signing of Golden Gate High School standout Luis Gonzales.

Originally a product of El Semillero Academy in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, Gonzales played varsity soccer at Golden Gate High for all four years. During his tenure at the school, the Titans won the Collier County Athletic Championship, were District champions for three years in a row in 2006,2007, and 2008, and were regional champions in 2008. In 2007, he led the team to the Bishop Verot Invitational Championship and the State final four for 4A. During his sophomore and junior year, he was named as a member of the All-District Team. His senior year, Gonzales was recognized as a member of the All-Area team. He also was a starter at the Southwest Florida senior bowl.

Coach Rosser is excited to bring Gonzales on board. He will be a huge asset up top for the Gyrenes as he will join his former teammate and best friend Damian Coliqueo at the position. Coach Rosser says, “Luis has tremendous technical ability and has a knack for the goal. He makes creative runs as well which make him a threat on and off the ball. I look forward to big things from Gonzales in the upcoming years.” Gonzales is thankful for Ave Maria University for giving him the opportunity to continue his studies and playing soccer in such an amazing atmosphere.
