Post Falls, Idaho native Marian De Tar has signed to play volleyball for the Lady Gyrenes.
During her high school freshman year, DeTar was the setter on the junior varsity team and was named the Most Valuable Player. The next three years controlled the back row as the defensive specialist. Her leadership ability was recognized during her junior year when she won the Coach's Award. This year she helped lead her team to the state tournament where her team placed fifth in the 5A division. Marian also credited for her speed and no fear of the floor when she received the Most Digs Award.
DeTar has not only excelled in volleyball, but in academics as well. She received the Chancellor Scholarship at Ave Maria, which is the highest academic leadership scholarship offered. Her tentative major is Classics. Marian is the daughter of Thomas and Cynthia DeTar.
