Marc Rozanski and Erika Derks Named AMU's Athletes of the Week

Marc Rozanski and Erika Derks have been selected as Ave Maria University's male and female athletes of the week for the week ending 11-22-09.

Rozanski, a Sophomore guard from McKeesport, Pennsylvania, had an excellent defensive game against Madonna University. His solid defense was key in containing Madonna University's leading offensive player. Rozanski grabbed 10 boards; 3 offensive and 7 defensive. He had 4 points in the game, with 5 assists and 2 steals.

Derks, a Junior guard from Colgate, Wisconsin, averaged 15 points on the week. On the road versus division II Flagler College, Derks scored 18, with 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 5 steals. Versus the College of the Bahamas Derks had 19 points, 3 assists, and 4 steals. Saturday, against the University of Puerto Rico - Rio Piedras, she added another 9 points.
