Chelsey Thompson of the Ave Maria University Softball Team has been tabbed Female Athlete of the Week for her outstanding offensive performance against conference opponent Northwood University.

The junior from Jacksonville, Florida was 2 for 3 in Game 1 of the Saturday doubleheader with a run scored. She was 1 for 3 in Game 2 hitting a double that produced 2 RBI for the Lady Gyrenes. On the week, Thompson was 3 for 6 with a double, a walk, and 2 RBI.

So far this season, Chelsey is batting .344 with 6 doubles, 2 triples and 8 stolen bases.
