Outfielder Carlos Padron was recently named AMU's Male Athlete of the Week after a solid week of hitting for the Gyrenes.

The freshman from Miami, Florida went a combined 6 for 11 at the plate last week. Against Florida Memorial on March 25th, Padron went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI and 2 doubles.

Then, in Game 1 versus Clearwater Christian, he was 1 for 3 followed by a 2 for 4 performance in Game 2. One of those hits included a grand slam homerun that left the yard in a hurry. He has 4 homeruns this season. His other hit in Game 2 was a double putting him at 9 total for the season. Padron is hitting .339 overall.
