AMU currently has verbal committments from several players and is excited about the future. AMU has already signed its first player, Daniel Mervos, a wide receiver from Cooper City High School. The coaching staff aims to have 30 players in at AMU this fall to begin shaping the team for the 2011 season.

The first out-of-state verbal committment, John Gudeman, is a 5'11", 180 lb. cornerback from Livonia Stevenson High School in Michigan. The list continues on the defensive side of the ball with Evan Aucamp, a 6'0", 250 lb. defensive tackle from Marco Island, Florida. Another is Dan Noland, a 6'2", 195 lb. linebacker from Perrysburg, Ohio. AMU recently received its latest verbal committment from 6'2", 200 lb. defensive end Colin Behm.

On the offensive side, Shane Williams, a Merritt Island, Florida native has verbally committed. Williams is a 6'2", 270 lb. offensive lineman. Clay Burroughs, a 6'3", 240 lb. tight end from Glen Ridge, New Jersey has committed. Rounding out the list is Gerald Megna, a 6'2", 185 lb. wide receiver from Cooper City, Florida.

AMU has hired Michael Kolakowski to be its defensive coordinator and secondary defensive backs coach. Kolakowski has coached at NCAA Division I schools Youngstown State, Central Michigan, and the University of Ohio.
