The Gyrenes held a three-point lead at halftime versus the NAIA's top ranked team Northwood University in West Palm Beach, Florida, but the Seahawks regained the lead in front of 1,000 fans to win 85-77.

Ave Maria's Dylan Fugate led all players with 19 points on 8-of-12 from the field. He led the team in rebounding as well with six boards. Kiel Lewis notched 15 points on a 6-of-8 performance, and Mike Coyle shot 5-of-7 for ten points. Matt Chattin and Akii Dean each scored nine.

Both teams were nearly even in offensive categories, but the Seahawks committed seven less turnovers over the course of the game. Each team had 29 total rebounds, and the Gyrenes actually had a higher field goal percentage (.508) compared to the Seahawks (.435). However, Northwood had more chances at the free throw line (24-29) opposed to the Gyrenes (13-15).

Masse Doumbe and Patrick Horstmann each finished with 17 points for the Seahawks.

Ave Maria fell to 13-11, TSC 2-8 while the Seahawks improved to 23-2, TSC 10-1. The Gyrenes host Warner University tomorrow, Monday the 6th at 7 p.m.
