Ave Maria University's softball team dropped two games at Broward State College in Pembroke Pines on Tuesday night, losing 8-0 and 5-2.

In the nightcap, the Gyrenes took a 2-0 lead on a two-run single by catcher Sarah Bronson (Cape Coral, Fla.), but the Seahawks fought back to complete the sweep. Pitcher Samantha Crews (Port Charlotte, Fla.) took the loss in that game to fall to 2-4 on the season, while Janet Holtfreter (Deerfield Beach, Fla.) was the pitcher of record in the first game; she's now 2-2.
