Kayla Sterling is from Powers Catholic High in Flint, Michigan. The two-sport athlete will play for head volleyball coach Mary Reed and the volleyball team, as well as for head softball coach Tim Speakman and the softball team. Kayla will strengthen the volleyball team's defense as a defensive specialist, and will be one of the pitchers for the softball team.
Kayla has excelled in sports, academics, and music during her high school years. She lettered in volleyball, cross country, softball and holds four state records in power lifting. Kayla has received academic letters all four years of high school and has been on the National Honor Society.
Kayla helped coach the middle school volleyball team, and has received the student service award. Despite her busy schedule, Kayla was able to participate in the marching and concert band.
