Maureen is very excited about joining her sister in playing softball for Ave Maria University. Maureen is captain of her varsity team, where she has established herself as a solid left-handed slap hitter although she pitches and throws right-handed.

Besides pitching, her speed has proven an asset to her as she has become a strong right-fielder, making many great put-outs at first base.  Maureen led her team in stolen bases. She was the Offensive MVP and received the Outstanding Pitcher Award of the Hartland Heat Travel Softball Team in 2008.

Maureen has been recognized as Academic All-State for softball. She has been a two year member of National Honor Society, and has received academic letters all four years of high school.  She is an officer of the Spanish Club at her school and is active in her church youth group. She has been a volunteer team leader for a “Challenge” club for 5th and 6th grade girls, and a weekly volunteer at a local nursing home, as well as a volunteer tutor for Math and Spanish at her school’s tutor lab. Maureen is really looking forward to joining the Ave Maria University community and the Ave Maria University softball team in particular.
