Chuck Amshoff joins the Ave Maria University staff as the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach after a stint with Tennessee State University.
Before that he led a successful head coaching career at Lindsey Wilson College. In two seasons, he led the volleyball program to a 43-33 mark. In his second year, he guided Lindsey Wilson to an overall record of 28-9, the second highest single season win total in the program’s history while advancing to the Conference Finals with players on the AVCA All-American, All-Tournament, and Conference teams.
Amshoff also served as the head tennis coach at LWC. Over two seasons, He led the women’s program to a 30-9 record while the men’s program notched a 25-11 mark. Both squads won back-to-back Mid South Conference regular season and tournament titles, and the women advanced to the NAIA national semifinals each of his two seasons while the men advanced to the second round.
Amshoff also brought the school’s first ever Women’s Single National Championship and was Coach of the Year two years in a row.
In 2006, Amshoff served as assistant women’s volleyball coach and head men’s volleyball coach at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He was an assistant coach at the University of Louisville in 2002 when the Cardinals won the Conference USA regular-season crown and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Louisville finished 28-6 that season.
Amshoff was also a coach at the KIVA, Kentucky Indiana Volleyball Academy, for 16 years, one of the top volleyball clubs in the country and served as head coach at Presentation Academy in Louisville for three seasons.
