Women's basketball team loses first-ever game The Ave Maria University women's basketball team wasn't as fortunate as its men's counterpart.
The Gyrenes lost their first-ever game, 70-40, at Webber International in Babson Park on Saturday night.
Batson Named Women's Basketball Coach Bob Batson has been named women's basketball coach at Ave Maria University, Batson and athletic director Brian Scanlan confirmed today. Scanlan also confirmed Elmer Tremont, who Tuesday announced his retirement, could join Batson as an assistant.
