The Ave Maria University Women's Basketball Team battled Monday and came away with a 69-64 home victory at the Donahue Academy Gymnasium. They are now 5-3 overall and 1-0 in league play.

Carey Fullilove led all scorers with 17. Teammates Erika Derks and Emily Huber each contributed 12. AMU was up by 8 at the half, and Bayamon fought all the way back in the second. However, AMU continued to shoot the ball well and eventually took the win. Angiely Morales and Katiria Rodriguez had 14 each for Bayamon.

The Lady Gyrenes will travel to Florida Tech Wednesday. Game time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Following their game, the AMU men will take on Florida Tech at 7:30 p.m.
