The Ave Maria University Women's Basketball Team trailed by 4 points at the half versus division II Florida Tech, but were forced to foul in the final minutes allowing the Panthers to claw away with the victory. Florida Tech improved their record to 4-1 while AMU fell to 5-4.

With a few minutes left in the game, Ave Maria trimmed its deficit to just four points on a layup by Carey Fullilove. However, Florida Tech scored on a layup with less than one minute remaining in the game, and also hit a free throw before the final buzzer.

Mimi Loveland led AMU with 14 points, and Erika Derks added 13.
