Flagler College defeated the Ave Maria University Women's Basketball Team by 10 points Friday night. The final score was 64-54. AMU was down 31-21 at the half and came back in the second half as each team scored 33 in the second period. However, Flagler answered with a basket to nearly all of AMU's points in the final minutes.
Carey Fullilove had 13 points, and Saira Morgan chipped in 12 with 10 rebounds. It was Morgan's second double-double of the season. For Flagler, Jen Mitchell led all scorers with 18 points.
The Lady Gyrenes are now 5-5 overall and will play their first conference game on January 2nd at the Donahue Academy Gymnasium. The game will begin at 5 p.m. Come watch them play in their first league game ever as a member of The Sun Conference.
