The Ave Maria University Women's Basketball Team was beaten by Barry University 77-45 on Wednesday. The Lady Gyrenes were limited with a shortened roster and just two days of practice after the Christmas holiday. They had not played a game since December 4th.

Holly Hill, Florida native, Sandy Jenkins led AMU with 13 points.

The ladies play again at home on January 2nd at 2 p.m. The game versus Warner University of Lake Wales, Florida will count in The Sun Conference standings. Come pack the gym as the Lady Gyrenes look to defeat Warner in their first Sun Conference game of the season. It will be played at the Donahue Academy Gym.
