FMU Takes Game From Lady Gyrenes

Erika Derks led all scorers with 11 points and 6 rebounds in the loss against Florida Memorial University Friday night.
Florida Memorial University and Ave Maria University match up against eachother tied for third place in The Sun Conference. Both teams boasted a respectable 5-3 record walking in, but the Lady Lions came away on top with a 60-47 win over AMU.
AMU dropped to 5-4 in the conference and 14-10 overall while FMU is now 6-3 in league play with a 10-12 overall record. Erika Derks had 11 points and 6 rebounds. She led the team in points, assists, and steals with 4 assists and 2 steals in 30 minutes of action. Forward Mimi Loveland drained 5 out of 7 shots from the field to tally 10 points in the game.
The Lady Gyrenes will look to bounce back tomorrow when they play St. Thomas University at 2 p.m. in the Donahue Academy.
