Ave Maria University women's basketball team, participating in the conference for the first year, was rewarded by the conference coaches voting for post season awards.

Junior Erika Derks was named first team all-conference, Freshman Emily Huber was named second team all-conference and also won the "Freshman of the Year" award. Bob Batson, women's coach, was rewarded by his fellow coaches by being named the Sun Conference "Coach of the Year". AMU finished the year 17-13 and 8-6 in the confernce for sole possession of fourth place in the confernce. AMU was not eligible to participate in the post season conference tournament this year.

Bob Batson was extremely proud of his players performance and credited their effort and performance for his award.
