Women's basketball coach Bob Batson announced the signing today of Alexandra Whitney from Boca Raton Community High School in Boca Raton, Florida.

Alex is a 5'8" guard who won numerous honors with her AAU and USSSA travel teams to include offensive player of the year in 2006, defensive player of the year in 2008 and MVP in 2007. Alex averaged 6 assists and 8 points a game this past year. Alex is the daughter of Cassandra and Eric Whitney. She credits her growth and success in basketball to her parents and her coaches over the years, Larry Green, Robin Nardozzi, Derrick Milton and Tony Fryer. AMU coach Bob Batson said he is excited about Alex joining the program and looks for great things from her on the basketball court. Alex intends to major in Biology at AMU.
