Father Gabriel Richard senior, Lauren Peters, will be attending Ave Maria University and will play basketball for the Lady Gyrenes this fall.

Peters is undecided as to her major, but is looking forward to the challenging academics and helping to build the AMU women's basketball program.

Peters is the third player from Gabriel Richard High School to join the women's basketball program at AMU. She joins Mimi Loveland, a 2008 graduate, and Amy Myler who attended Gabriel Richard but graduated high school in Florida.

Coach Bob Batson said he is looking forward to having Lauren as part of the program. She missed her senior year due to an injury but is now fully recovered and is expected to contribute right away. Her perseverence and competitive attitude will fit right in with the players we have.
