Kentucky Christian ended the women's basketball winning streak 64-57 Saturday. The reigning NCCAA National champions had all they could handle from the Gyrenes who fought to a 3 point deficit with 75 seconds to play, but could get no closer as Kentucky Chriatian made 4 clutch foul shots as the Gyrenes needed to foul. It was a great effort. The Gyrenes were down by 9 points at the half and as much as 14 in the second half before they made their comeback. Erika Derks led all scorers with 17 points and Sandy Jenkins again had a good offensive game scoring 14 points. Emily Huber, who was hurt in Friday's win over Southeastern played 39 minutes but was definitely bothered in her shooting. The Gyrenes travel to Clearwater Christian next Saturday and to Flagler on Sunday.
