Back-To-Back 3-0 Losses Put Lady Gyrenes at 4-10 Overall

On Thursday night, the Lady Gyrenes were defeated at home 3-0 by Florida Memorial University. Ave Maria outshot the Lions 16-3 but Florida Memorial goalkeeper Ana Patrizzi recorded eight saves to keep the Lady Gyrenes scoreless throughout the match.

Florida Memorial's first goal came in the 8th minute on an own goal by the Lady Gyrenes. Eight minutes later, Lourdine Delphonse of Florida Memorial headed a ball past Ave Maria keeper Jackie Gonzalez on a corner kick by Brenda Davilda. The Lady Gyrenes entered halftime down 2-0.

Florida Memorial scored their final goal in the 68th minute to walk away from Ave Maria's North Park with the shutout. Morgan Collins led Ave Maria with four shots, two on goal, and Ally Robau finished with three shots, one on goal.

In Saturday's 3-0 loss to St. Thomas University, Sydney O'Hair, Morgan Collins, and Beth Greve recorded the only shots for Ave Maria. Lady Bobcat, Sara Mira was responsible for the majority of damage to Ave Maria as she scored goals in the eighth and 73rd minutes to give St. Thomas a 2-0 lead heading into the final minutes of play. Monica Lozano scored the final goal of the game for the Lady Bobcats on an assist from Danelle Nguyen in the 82nd minute.

Kate Neal and Jackie Gonzalez split duties at goalie for Ave Maria. Neal recorded five saves with one goal against, and Gonzalez notched seven saves with two goals against. St. Thomas improved to 10-4 overall and 7-2 in the conference.

The Lady Gyrenes have one game remaining on schedule this season, which will take place at Florida College on October 29th at 1 p.m. The recent losses complete Ave Maria's record within The Sun Conference at 2-8.
